amazing rescue
I hope this guy has to foot the bill for his rescue. People doing obviously insane [expletive] like this don't deserve public assistance. They deserve a darwin award.
People can do all the 'extreme' BS they want, just don't come to me to rescue your ass. Man up and take responsibility for your decisions idiots.
Moderators, feel free to move to rants.
Agree in principle. I am amazed at the predicaments I have seen some people get themselves into. The article does not reveal much about what happened with this guy:
A wrong turn and a couple of brutal falls had left him clinging for two nights and two days to the side of Dog Tooth Peak
He will probably get a bill for the helicopter use. IIUC, the SAR effort won't be billed. Those guys are volunteers. I know in CO, you can buy a SAR card for like $10, and the proceeds go the local chapter to help pay for equipment and supplies.
TBH, I am more incensed by the regular acts of biking idiocy I see around Chicago (no helmet, riding into traffic, riding at 20mph with areobars on the narrow and crowded lakefront path on a Saturday) than by what I see in CO.
