Oh come on.
Overexaggeration, yes, but it's silly that a B1G fan would chastise ND for looking out for their own interests as if that conference's interest in ND over the last 30+ years has been purely magnanimous.

Well no, that's not the same thing at all.

You may want to work on that reading comprehension, and do a little reading on the history of the school you claim to follow...

Are you aware that the doma faculty voted OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of joining the B1G when the offer was on the table in the 1990's?

Are you aware that the sainted Rockne himself worked tirelessly throughout his coaching tenure lobbying to get ND into the Big Ten?

These two facts alone blow your nutty theory of a "predatory" B1G to smithereens. The BIG wants and has brought in schools that want to fully participate; there is zero need for or tolerance of prima donnas who think they merit special status.

Once again --I offer my congrats to ND on a brilliant sales job -- there is clearly a desperate market out there for that magic "brand power" elixir they are selling.

Without beating this issue into the ground, I'll tell you that I am aware of both. I'm also aware that

1) the ND faculty cares more about research dollars than anything else (and more power to them), which is why they made that vote. Thankfully they don't have the power to make such important decisions, nor should they.

2) Fielding Yost led a B1G blackballing of ND in response to Knute's work due to his fervent anti-Catholicism, inadvertently helping to turn ND into what it became. It's actually the reason ND continues to play Purdue in football - they were the only conference school to ignore Yost and schedule the Irish anyway. (Mich St did too but didn't join the B1G until the 50s.)

It would also help your cause if you would quit intentionally butchering the spelling of "Domer(s)". I'm not sure why you do it, nor do I care to know, but it does nothing but make your posts on this subject less legible.

My beef with Notre Dame is Dan Devine won a national title in five years of coaching there, as well as the 1978 and amazing 1979 Cotton Bowls, and is not included as one of their greatest coaches. Admittedly, in that era, if there was a tossup in the final polls, the championship poll voters would defer to Notre Dame, but still......
