Yep, that was the wheel play. And McCarver was correct in real time when he noted that Andrus made a hell of a play to reverse field and get the out at first base.
People like to rag on Buck and McCarver but I thought they did a pretty solid job calling that game. They correctly noted (in advance) the bad positioning of the Ranger outfielders on Berkman's hit, McCarver correctly called out Cruz for letting Freese's fly get over his head, they correctly questioned (in advance) the decision to yank Feldman for a PH, and the end--"we'll see you tomorrow night" followed by a full minute of silence from the booth before McCarver gathers himself to say "how did this happen?" was excellent.

Cruz gets way too much flak for not catching that ball. That was a rocket. Easy to misjudge based on the swing and the fact it was opposite field. Look how far it rolled back toward the infield after hitting the wall. It was not a routine play.

If this was posted before, I missed it. At any rate, it's worth repeating.

Weird. When I saw Albert in the celebration, my first thought was "What is he doing there?". How quickly we adjust to new realities.Radbird wrote:If this was posted before, I missed it. At any rate, it's worth repeating.
