Should have called .. I work like 10 minutes from there.stlouie_lipp wrote:jim- I had some good tacos today at a hole in the wall place on Route 59, just south of 64. It was in some strip mall and totally authentic (no English on the menus, Mexican soap operas blaring on the TV). The kind of place that most white people would only go into to ask where the nearest Chi-Chi's is.
I didn't plan on being stuck that way all day. If I knew I'd be there, I would have called you and we could have met at the Red Lobster by your old house for lunch!

The this gift card market resale/buy site gets mixed reviews online. But I decided to give it a go with 3 cards that were collecting dust/doomed to be lost on our junk pile. Not much to lose.Freed Roger wrote:I just googled and found thisheyzeus wrote:

If anyone happens to try it and turns out to be legit and easy , let me know.
Outback (hadn't been to an Outback in decades. I don't know if I like them or not, but I figured what the hell).
Darden (Olive Garden Red Lobster )
Cracker Barrell
Basically I am selling $75 cards for $60 cash. Not a great deal, but oh well. Cracker Barrell had the lowest return $19ish for $25.

Breakfast last Sunday ... now this is my kind of fine dining. Mexican breakfast, thats huevos con chorizo (eggs and chorizo sausauge). You get refried beans and rice with every Mexican meal, even breakfast. Notice the plastic fork and Styrofoam cup ... first class all the way.
Don't need the fork with the eggs though, because this how you eat your eggs Mexican style. Put the tortilla in your hand, and just grab a handful:

How about this .. lunch today:

$1 tacos Monday thru Friday at Las Tias in West Chicago. The entire lunch was $4 and change, and that included chips.

Can you pay them a little more to improve the product by replacing the giant slabs of onion with dog turds?

They ask you if you want onion and cilantro. I like it, you don't have to get it. There are something like 10 different types of tacos, from liver to head to ground beef. The middle are chicken, the one on the left is ground beef, and quite frankly I'm not sure what they called the one on the right. Peppered steak basically.
But seriously, $4. I don't think you can get out of Taco Bell for $4.

I've done tongue, and also head meat, at La Tejana, sort of close to the airport. The tongue was ok. The head meat was great.
