I shouldn’t order tuna crudo because the fish was old.

A cook provided that last nugget of useful information when I dined at the counter overlooking Basso’s open kitchen.

The warning may have saved our party from the unpleasantness of bad tuna, but it didn’t stop the cook from plating orders for other tables. Each time, we watched as she peeled back plastic wrap from a sheet of presliced fish, took a whiff, recoiled — and served it anyway.

So where's everyone going for V-day dinner tonight? I'm feeling sushi, nothing fancy.

Basso has great atmosphere and I hear the tuna crudo is nice- very sushi-like.

Who even goes out for Valentines day any more? The restaurants are too crowded.

I bought some filet's and will do them on the grill in the -20 degree weather. I hate this [expletive] day, always have.
