Re: Corporate Speak
This does not surprise me at all. I have head bosses say similar things in meetings, we maybe not the India and China thing, but we are always being to told to work "harder" on something. I prefer to work smarter.Radbird wrote:Yes, it was posted on his company intranet blog. Re: Corporate Speak
Just think of the money corporations and institutions could save and pass on to consumers/taxpayers if they'd quit hiring useless consultants.
(have friends who have worked as consultants - jeesh. What a gravy train that is.)

Re: Corporate Speak
i'm not sure what to expect from the meeting. i'm not nervous about losing my job or anything (i will be if the gov't defunds the pell grant which i think is a real possibility). this is for the university, i believe everyone will be going through it. we hired a new president last july and he's trying to see how the university can be more efficient. my father works with him/is in his inner circle so i do believe its genuine but i can't help and be a little wary. they sent us 10 questions to answer a few weeks ago and they were so ambiguous and filled with corporate speak i couldn't help but laugh at it and get annoyed (and think of this thread).

Re: Corporate Speak
Consultants make a living of doing corporate-speak with a client reimbursed expense account.
that said, Joce I wouldn't go into the meeting with expectations and attitude like I have about them. I'm sure they are accustomed to everyone being skeptical about them and whatever their purpose is. So ignore all of what's been said.

For 100K (plus expense reimbursement), you can hire me as consultant on how to become a consultant.IMADreamer wrote:how do you become a consultant? I need a nice cushy job.

Re: Corporate Speak
That could be an awesome job or a horrible job.
The latest I've been hearing in graphic design speak is referring to stuff as "horsey". If a typeface is too big or too bold, or if a design element is too big, it's "horsey".
It's incredibly [expletive] stupid. In fact, it's so stupid that I can only assume that it derived with a few of my co-workers, because I can't imagine anyone else using it.
