Matt Adams (oblique) is swinging a bat with no pain.
Adams is scheduled to spend the weekend on a minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield before returning to the Cardinals' active roster Tuesday in Chicago. The young slugger has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 22 with a strained right oblique.

He was supposed to play last night, but Memphis was rained out. They're in the 10th inning now, and he has yet to play.

Cardinals Matt Adams finished 2-5 with a double tonight for AA-Springfield. He nearly beat out a grounder to third base in his first at-bat.
