English cyclist - free ticket for todays Reds game available
Greetings Cards fans, congratulations on the good season you're having so far.
This is a bit of a punt on my part, but to cut a long story short - Hi, my name's Matt and I'm an English guy who this season is attempting to ride a bicycle to every ballpark in the majors, watching a game in each one as I go. So far I've ridden from Seattle down to San Diego, from there to Denver via Phoenix, down to Houston via Dallas, across to Tampa and Miami, before heading up to Atlanta where I am now (I was at the Braves game last night) - I'm headed to St Louis next and basically just to prove I'm not making this up there's a facebook page about what I'm up to here - http://tinyurl.com/mqrqfyb
The reason I'm posting on here is that I'm going to be going to the game v the Rangers on Sunday and, as I know literally nobody in St Louis, I was wondering if there are any fans out there who wouldn't mind me tagging along with their group to the game?
I appreciate it's a bit weird, but I figured I've not got much to lose by asking as if I can find anyone who'll take me it'll be a lot more fun than sitting on my own for three hours. I'm not looking for free tickets or anything like that, just anyone who's happy to have me along and can tell me a bit about the team and their history.
I'm leaving Atlanta to start the ride over this afternoon, but I'll be online throughout the week and if anyone's interested please email me at matthew.r.blake@gmail.com
Good luck in the game tonight and possibly see younat the game on Sunday,
Matt

If I still lived in St. Louis I'd take you.

That's very cool. How long have you been at it? How many miles per day are you averaging?
You're story of meeting the girl at the Marlins game would have been more fascinating and unlikely had there been more than a couple hundred fans at the game.

No problem, what does GRB stand for?
I left Seattle on March 24th and am doing 100 miles per day - it's all on schedule but the Cards and the Royals have caused problems by leaving on road trips at just the wrong times.lukethedrifter wrote:That's very cool. How long have you been at it? How many miles per day are you averaging?

As for the girl at the Marlins - it was the Marlins, it was raining and the Heat were playing - so not a massive crowd (fortunately for me).
I'm heading out to the road for today but I'll be back online tomorrow so hopefully can find someone I town!

If planet or luke schedule a meetup with you they probably won't show up. luke will have to "work" for "money" to "put food in his kids mouth" and such, and planet will just have other social plans that trump you.
edit - oh, and since it's a day game you are going to jl21 is out too as he typically does not wakeup until first pitch on Sunday's.

I am, in fact, working on Sunday or I would be right there (until they called me in for "overtime").
How many miles so far? 100 a day is pretty strong. You're making me nostalgic for my cyclo touring days through Canada and Alaska.

what route are you taking ATL to STL? I can make some recs along the way. You can probably stay at Shlabotnick's crib in Huntsville.
