Why am I so nervous? C'mon man, you gotta' make it!

I do have a question - can you ride bike across the Eads Bridge? That seems .... dangerous. I went to google and did directions from Freeburg, IL to the stadium and it had him going across the Eads - not that I know any other route across. Not to mention East St. Louis. Cycling ball fan - watch the movie "Vacation" with Chevy Chase when you get a chance, you will get a kick out of it having cycled through the east side.

edit - or is it telling me to get on the metro and take that across?

Eads Bridge is perfectly fine for riding across. McKinley Bridge as well but too far north. I rode across the I-255 bridge once. Terrible idea to ride on the Interstate but I didn't feel like riding all the way up to and through ESL.

Other thing about East Side is that the street grid can get a little confusing. If he keeps moving and doesn't get lost he should be cool.

The Metro isn't a terrible idea but that's not what the maps are saying.

I don't overreact to bad neighborhoods by any stretch, but I have to say that I don't think I'd voluntarily ride a bike where he is going to ride a bike. I'm sure he's seen some rough neighborhoods in other cities, but this one just might take the cake.

Well, he should be in town by now so hopefully we'll hear from him soon.

I don't think I'd drive a car to ESL, let alone bike. At least he will be there in the day time.

I reckon I can guess which bit ESL was

And the Eads Bridge was perfectly safe as half was closed, so smashed glass aside I rode on that. Approx an hour ago....

Well done. I recommend stopping in the Broadway Oyster bar for a beer before gametime.

I'm running a littl behind so will probably go straight to the park, but that sky is looking ominous. I'm going to cry if this gets rained out.
