TRob wasn't very good last year, but would have been, maybe, the best guy off our bench. I like the move, but was hoping we would get him as part of an Asik move.
So Tyreke Evans is going to be a Pelican, they're working out a sign-and-trade with Sacramento to send Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez to the Kings. It sound like he'll play the 3, which could be interesting. It doesn't seem like it should work, but he does have a long wingspan (tip one back for Jay Bilas).
I'm guessing, barring anything surprising, the lineup is:
Holiday
Gordon
Evans
Ryan Anderson
Anthony Davis
with no semblance of a bench. We could still use another big and a 3-point shooter. But, a pretty good job by Dell Demps to go from post Chris Paul hell to a playoff team on paper.
Portland getting in on NO/Sac for Lopez. Ugh. Lopez is fine. Would have helped us a ton last year. But he, McCollum and TRob aren't going to keep Aldridge here. They aren't going to get us out of the first round if they get us that far. If there isn't a crazy trade, it's time to ship Aldridge out, stack some youth and draft picks.
I don't know if you guys are following the Oden headlines, but he'll have a team next year. It's probably going to play out like Brandon Roy in Minnesota, and both he and the Blazers had to move on. But when you consider that this is the Blazers, the chances that he becomes a force multiply by approximately EXPLETIVE YOU, LIFE! times.
I'm pretty much looking at my 13-14 Blazers, and it's depressing. Either use that cap space to build something special through trade (if not free agency) or hold onto it and try again at the deadline. Or trade Aldridge and Batum or Matthews. Middling makes no sense right now where sucking does.
The Bulls forum had a mention that LMA likes Chicago, and has now had like 240 pages over three threads debating how to get it done.
Now that Howard is signing with Houston (Sam Amick broke the story just a bit ago, but I'll believe it when I see an official conference), Asik is moveable. I'd give up Noah to Portland for LMA if we could somehow also get Asik back. Maybe Houston would want Gibson! Sigh. I miss Omer Asik.

We only want Noah if he can line up with Aldridge. The vice versa is true for Chicago. I'd rather have Asik's contract and health than Noah anyway.
