So far, but I don't think I can last.

I don't drink coffee at all, just soda and tea. I'm thinking about getting some tea right now.

Wean bro. Wean.

If I were forced to give up one or the other - coffee or beer, I think I would give up coffee but it's not a slam dunk. I really really like/need my coffee. Giving it up would be a serious quality of life issue that I am not willing to make.

Dependency on caffeine has really sucked on the rare occasions when I was sick and/or hungover - and needed sleep, instead of waking up for a caffeine fix so the headache wasn't compounded.

This is where I'm at. I enjoy a nice cup of coffee while reading the paper (well, my phone) Saturday morning almost as much as I enjoy a beer while grilling that night.

I don't get the caffeine withdrawal symptoms like I do with the hooch.

You know, Elliott Smith went off his narcotics of choice cold turkey. Then he stabbed himself in the heart. Twice.

I'm pretty sure coffee has zero effect on my wakefulness. I drink it late and have no trouble sleeping. I drink it in the morning and don't feel any peppier.

Your body adjusts to caffeine, so after a while, the effect isn't nearly as a great as when you first began drinking it. http://youarenotsosmart.com/2010/02/22/coffee/

I was a tin of Copenhagen a day chewer, quit in 2007. I wanted to stab myself in the heart, and in fact thought several times I was having a heart attack. Sweats, palpitations, and the worst were cramping in my feet and calves. Horrible.

I figured that might be the case, but then I hear people say all the time how they "need" the morning coffee and then I wonder why it doesn't do anything for me.

I do remember it giving me the shakes in college when I first started drinking it.
