I got McNulty, which is pretty accurate, since I'm a [expletive] who drinks a lot and has no job.

I've got a lot of McNulty as it pertains to work but I don't have it in me to be a cheating skank- though sometimes I wish I did. My wife hates McNulty completely btw.

Apparently it is being "remastered" for HD by HBO for a marathon coming up.

There's a 9/4 date floating around which is apparently premature.

Wondering how they'll do this. What I've read is that Seasons 1-3 were shot 16:9 and shot and cropped with 4:3 in mind for broadcast. Then 4 and 5 were shot only in 4:3 because Simon preferred it for this show.

So either they:

- crop it again from the 4:3 version and show it in 16:9 (strongly doubt they do that)
- show seasons 1-3 in 16:9 and 4 & 5 in 4:3
- just show them all in 4:3 at a higher resolution - this seems like the natural choice, but I don't know technologically how that ends up looking on a 16:9 HD television

I started the show a couple of weeks ago, finished season 1. pretty good so far, not "best of all time" material yet but BrBa definitely took a few seasons to get to that status, too.

Omar is the best and i'm glad it looks like he'll be around for a while based on stuff i've heard. D also very strong but it seems like he won't stick. Hoping they find a role for him. It'll be interesting to see if Idris Elba turns into the amazing supervillain that Avon wasn't.

Only character i actively dislike is the state attorney chick that mcnulty is banging.

Also glad to hear the show will branch out a little bit from the micro-level detective work from the first season, not that it wasn't great.

On to season 2.
