Need to get back to that place. Only tried a couple of tacos.

Annie Gunn's seems out of place on that list, and they've essentially got two entries.
Way overrated. And the whole place is just way too dirty to be taken seriously.2. Carl's Deli: Corned Beef Sandwich
Also overrated. There are better sandwich shops within minutes in almost any direction, but I know people that think Mom's is the greatest place on earth.5. Mom's Deli: Dad's Special
Great Cuban sandwich. I like City Diner, but I go just for this.15. City Diner: Cuban Sandwich
If you haven't had this, go immediately.2. Salume Beddu: Speck with Preserved Lemons and Gruyere
Haven't had either one, but I bet they're awesome. I've been to WH twice and it's chaotic and seems like sitting down to eat would take forever, so I end up wandering around, buying a couple of things and leaving.5. Winslow's Home: Grass-fed Beef Brisket Sandwich
8. Iron Barley: Prime Rib Sandwich

I'm surprised Shaved Duck didn't make it in the New Guard column. I'll never understand why Mom's is so revered.

I'd assume that Mom's made it basically because of how much the locals love it. Otherwise, I don't really see why it'd be on there. It's the Joe McEwing of sandwich shops.
I'd also guess that when you're making a list of 64 sandwiches, you're bound to have some that aren't that good. That's a lot of sandwiches. I was kind of stunned to see the Macklind Deli make the list.
Here are the few that I've had out of the brackets:
LeGrand's Market & Catering: Legend Club (obviously)
Lion's Choice: Roasted Beef Sandwich
Schottzie's Bar & Grill: Brain Sandwich
Pat's Bar & Grill: Fried Chicken Sandwich
Schlafly Tap Room: Fried Egg & Ham Toastie
Broadway Oyster Bar: Shrimp Po' Boy
O'Connell's Pub: Roast Beef Sandwich
Mom's Deli: Dad's Special
Nora's: For Pete's Sake [smoked pork tenderloin]
Macklind Avenue Deli: Murdoch BLT
Amighetti's: Amighetti Special
Blues City Deli: The Valenza Special Muffuletta
Mission Taco Joint: Chorihuevo Torta
Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium: Da Dip [roast beef]
Fountain on Locust: Royal Grille [grilled cheese with fuji apple]
I've also been to Iron Barley and Sugarfire, but didn't get the items on the list. As much as I love pimento cheese, and as good as it probably is on a BLT, I'll be damned if I'm going to a BBQ place and getting a [expletive] BLT. I've also had a St. Paul sandwich and I can't imagine it'd be any more appealing by getting it at a different restaurant.
