Good point. Since some people are mockable snobs it's stupid to care if farmers raise animals in a decent way.
AW, by saying its weird to be inconsistent do you mean it's normal?

If you want to start the march towards more ethical farming practices, I applaud your effort.

Arby's uses processed beef so it is basically 'cow ham'. Only good smothered in cheese on onion roll with a bit of arbys sauce

That's my favorite scene of that show so far.pioneer98 wrote:

I wasn't trying to make a point by posting that Portlandia clip. I just thought it was funny. I do worry somewhat about where all this meat used in fast food places comes from. But the more immediate question to me is: should anyone be selling that amount of meat as a meal?

one of the reasons (amongst many) i gave up meat was for the mind boggling amount of meat that is produced. think of 1 (one) fast food chain you go to, then look down the block and see all the other restaurants (and im talking national/big corporate, not even the local or regional restaurants), then think of how many others are in your town/city, universities and corporate campuses have restaurants, hospitals, etc, then think about across your state, etc, etc...it partly doesn't seem sustainable, but on the other hand we are raising animals for no other reason to be slaughtered. it just kinda makes me lose an appetite for meat.
but thats just me. not trying to get people to stop eating meat.

I get why people do it. Sometimes it puts a pit in my stomach to think about.Jocephus wrote:one of the reasons (amongst many) i gave up meat was for the mind boggling amount of meat that is produced. think of 1 (one) fast food chain you go to, then look down the block and see all the other restaurants (and im talking national/big corporate, not even the local or regional restaurants), then think of how many others are in your town/city, universities and corporate campuses have restaurants, hospitals, etc, then think about across your state, etc, etc...it partly doesn't seem sustainable, but on the other hand we are raising animals for no other reason to be slaughtered. it just kinda makes me lose an appetite for meat.

But then I see Bandanas and I go in and eat an entire calf because I love BBQ sauce.

I linked that Onion article with zero knowledge of this thread, or this product.
