My boyfriend's been in Chicago (for the first time ever) since Wednesday.

He hates it and thinks it should die.

The only reason to visit Chicago is to see baseball, and there is no baseball in Chicago in October. Why was he doing this?

Chicago is just a terrible place. No one should go there. Even for baseball.

This winter is going to suck. I just know it. I hate it.

It'll be 90 or above all week. What's a winter?

6-10" tomorrow then not supposed to be above freezing (for highs) for the entire ten day forecast. Temps keep dropping in the forecast. [expletive] me.

What's the difference between "piercing cold," "biting cold," and "bitterly cold?"

Forecast has snow in upstate NY the latter-half of this week and this weekend, which is when my dad is coming up to help me load up a U-Haul and haul my tractor and all of my outdoor yard equipment and power/shop tools back to Missouri to store in the barn on the family farm for the next couple years until we buy a house again.

The corollary to that is that it will be in the 60s/70s for the latter-half of this week and this weekend here in SC.

This is the second 1000+ mile move I've made involving upstate NY around Thanksgiving/Christmas. Not a fan of them.

I grew up in Milwaukee and went to college in Chicago. Between two miserable winter cities I'd still say Chicago is the worst. Standing on an elevated train platform in between a skyscraper wind tunnel near the lake in -20 degree windchills is misery. Doing it for 30 minutes because the trains are so cold they keep breaking down and get behind schedule is a treat. Eff that city.

Denver weather:
Yesterday - 75/sunny
Today - high of 51 a few hours ago. currently 31. rain/snow starts at 2:00. low 16
Tuesday - high 25/low 12. flurries. windy
Wedsnesday - high 17/low 6. snow
Thurday - high 23/low 17. snow

We don't get back to the 40's until a week from Wednesday. Dug out all the winter clothes yesterday and got the snow blower ready.

Oh, well. Better than being in Chicago. Or Milwaukee.
