Re: Joe Maddon to the Cubs
The Cardinals need a bench coach, what about offering Renteria that position?

After reading this, if anyone comes out a little snakey it's Epstein. There's a point when you just say too much.letsgocards89 wrote:The other shoe drops: Renteria fired.

Renteria is gone, but Maddon hasn't officially signed yet. This is where JoeMad needs to say "thanks, but no thanks" and seek employment in St. Louis instead. Leave Theo hanging with blood on his hands and a job to fill.

This should renew the Billy Goat's Curse for another 100 years.

Re: Joe Maddon to the Cubs
I like Rick Renteria. I love Rick Renteria. I'd trust him with my children. Strike that, I want him to have my children. I'd vote Rick Renteria for president. If aliens invaded I'd want Rick Renteria leading the fight against them. Unfortunately, Joe Maddon is available, so...."Rick deserved to come back for another season as Cubs manager, and we said as much when we announced that he would be returning in 2015," Epstein said. "We met with Rick two weeks ago for a long end-of-season evaluation and discussed plans for next season. We praised Rick to the media and to our season ticket holders. These actions were made in good faith."

I wonder if this makes the players trust Kid Genius less. I know if I were in the organization, after this I wouldn't ever be able to fully trust what he tells me.ghostrunner wrote:After reading this, if anyone comes out a little snakey it's Epstein. Dwight: Its business, not personal. [they run back outside, where Dwight gets paper from Michael]
Michael: Give it, give it. We can't do this to those people.
Dwight: Its over, Michael, its over. [holding list of clients up]
Michael: Im not a shark.
