There has never been a Cardinals manager who wore a pajamas shirt under a team jersey to a press conference. If he dresses sloppily he thinks sloppily. I'd rather stick with Matheny.

So, I guess you don't have to comb your f*****g hair before you appear at a press conference for the Cubs.

I saw the press conference was at a bar and Maddon ordered a round of Boilermakers for the entire house at the end of the press conference.

I see he is already fitting in with the drunken Wrigleyville faithful.

To put my post in context you really have to hear the media coverage up here. They all sound like a group of fanboys. Two guys on the radio were speculating about in which Chicago neighborhood he will live. They sounded like a couple school girls speculating on which cheerleader the star quarterback will ask to prom. It's embarrassing.

I can see that. I'm betting his contract will require him to wear goofier glasses and drink a case of Old Style before every home game and public appearance...

You couldn't stereotype the Northshore douchebags any more than with Theo and Jed. My skin crawls around people like that.

On one hand, I totally get the enthusiasm Cubs fans have. I'd be thrilled, too, if I had that much payroll, that much young talent, Theo running the show and Maddon managing.

But I do not envy you one bit. That has to be completely insufferable.

They did the same thing a few years ago when they threw a truckload of money at Theo! fap fap fap

Maddon at that presser looks like a guy who just realized he sold his soul. Good grief, how much money do the Cubs have? No wonder they want public money to renovate.

And who the [expletive] is Jed? Why do Cubs need two clowns like that?

I picture the 3 of them after that presser heading off to a gentrified fancy bar with Nate Silver and taking all the fun out of drinking bourbon or whatnot.

Jed's the actual GM. Supposedly.
