When you say that it's missing, it plays a tone on the Tile device, which is kind of annoying and I'd rather turn off though it does help find it. Not what I'd prefer if I lost it in public. Though it also tells you on the phone app roughly how close it is.
It works over Bluetooth so if you're past that range it won't work. Doesnt do any good if you leave it at a store and you've left already. Though if anyone who has that app installed walks by your Tile, it will report back to Tile's servers and then you get notified. Not sure that would come up for most people. I mostly got it to prevent delays in the morning.
It's also kind of thick for a wallet, unless you're one of those people who carries 25 cards in there anyway. I had to pull out a few things I decided I could do without.
Got a new lock fitted to my shed on Friday, because I lost the keys and the lock was pretty cheap anyway. Sunday, I found the keys in the pocket of a coat I've not worn in 6 months. This has been a particularly bad weekend.
Ours runs in the family. Two weeks ago my youngest son lost his keys that were on a chain with his drivers license and credit card. Took a week to get the car key replaced and $220 because apparently it's harder to do that than send a man to the moon, and of course we need to get the house locks changed because if anyone ever finds the keys they also find our address. He also lost his dorm room key on that as well. So that one was about $500 by the time all is said and done.
I lost my debit card yesterday. When I was going out alot, I had two debit cards and 2 credit cards because it was pretty much a guarantee that I was going to lose one or two a night. I hadn't lost one in a while, but I misplaced my debit card yesterday and couldn't find it for a couple hours (slid between the arm rest and chair in the car) and last week I left it in an ATM. So...there's that.
Took some friends down to the lake last summer and was telling one of the girls on the way about how a friend of mine jumped right off the boat as soon as we got to the cove last summer without taking his glasses off and lost them.
Not even an hour later I did the exact same thing. And I didn't have a backup pair. And I had just run out of contacts. I was pretty much blind until Tuesday since it was Memorial Day weekend and I lost them on Saturday around noon.
I can't say that I never misplace anything because it obviously happens to everyone, but I'm a bit OCD when it comes to keeping things "in their place" so I don't lose/misplace things and it drives my wife insane sometimes.
But, I'm happy to say keys have never been an issue. Never have lost a set of keys, hell I still have a couple of things I keep on my key chain since I was 16 years old....its completely stupid (a brass Ralph Lauren Polo logo) but I keep it on there for good luck.
