Denton is apparently a lifelong Cardinals fan. I'm assuming the team will try to leverage that to get him to break his Vandy commit for less.

Re: 2015 MLB Draft
Chris Correa's thoughts: wrote: Jake Woodford–"The way we view him, first and foremost, he’s got a really heavy fastball and he can control it. That’s rare to see at the high school level. Additionally, we’ve seen a good slider. We’ve seen a good changeup from him and we think he’s got the ability to develop a three-pitch repertoire and become a durable starter going forward."
Matt Garrioch ranked Woodford as the No. 67 talent in the draft in May, writing:
Jacob Woodford has a pitchers build and plenty of arm strength. He works 90-94 and has the stamina to hold velo deep into games. His breaking ball is average, as is his change. His stuff could improve to give him three above average to plus pitches and slot in as a solid mid rotation arm. The fact that his stuff wasn't at it's best this spring and he is commited to Florida makes me think he will end up on campus and join a great staff and have a shot as a top pick in three years.

Matt Garrioch wrote:Bryce Denton has some electricity in his bat. He has some serious bat speed. He's an above average runner, has soft hands and a very strong arm. He isn't as big as some of the other 3B's in the class but in all honesty, I could see him playing SS early in his career. He is committed to Vanderbilt, just as Julian Infante is and if they both go to Vandy, that could happen at some point. His bat will play at a corner though.

Re: 2015 MLB Draft
Jim Callis writing about Plummer:
He burst onto the scene last year at the East Coast Professional Showcase. I had some scouts tell me that he may have made the biggest first impression of anybody they can remember there. At that point, you thought this guy could maybe the No. 1 overall pick in the entire Draft, that’s how good he was. He doesn’t throw particularly well, but he can do everything else as a potential center fielder. He slumped a little bit this spring, which is why he’s going here.

I found this article where they talk about Bryce's dad. They have some old family photos, and it looks like they're all wearing Cards stuff.letsgocards89 wrote:You could be right on with this one.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Denton is apparently a lifelong Cardinals fan. Ravenwood ehhh? I have a couple friends that teach at that school. I'll have them persuade him to sign.
