Managing for a split makes zero sense. I somewhat understand resting guys in the first game, but once we got those 2 runs his objective should've been to steal one.

I think it was. He pinch hit Carp and Grichuk. Siegrist would have come in if the Cards tied it or took the lead. I don't have a problem with using Choate against Herrera, Fowler, and Rizzo. He got beat today. It happens.
