Game ain't over. Its still the Cubs after all. Just kidding, TT. Sort of.
That sounded weird hitting Jays knee guard.

Time for a Matt Carpenter grand slam.

This is pretty much it. Jay has missed two months with a wrist injury and hasn't hit all season. Matheny is going to give him a chance because that's what managers do. The question is how long that chance should last.Cheddar Tom wrote:I'm of two minds on the Pham/Jay thing....Jay is a prob. better player than Pham in the long run. I'd rather have him in good form and on the postseason roster than Pham. But the Cards can't just keep giving Jay AB's if he doesn't show anything.

honestly Jon Jay is not losing us this game and I'd rather have him be somewhat useful for the playoffs if possible, in whatever capacity. You aren't going to play him in the playoffs with 10 ABs to his name post-injury.jagtrader wrote:This is pretty much it. Jay has missed two months with a wrist injury and hasn't hit all season. Pretty easy to manage a bullpen when you have 13 relievers. Expanded rosters are so dumb. Completely changes the game.

Even if we don't win, Grichuk's home run made this about 10x more tolerable.
