Hi Terrific Turkey! Welcome to GRB! Before we get started, there are just a few preliminary things we have to get out of the way. Sorry, but we'll have you up and running in no time.Maclowery wrote:Welcome to GRB! Please refer to heyzeus for your membership requirements.
First, have you submitted Form 437-B to a moderator yet? If not, no problem. Just google it, download and fill it out, and submit 12 copies and a retinal swab to any moderator.
Next up, and I apologize to have to talk business so indiscreetly, is the matter of membership dues. The good news is we're running a new members discount at the moment, so it is only $9.99 for the first month and $19.99 for every month thereafter. That fee includes 17 posts per month, which is a good value if you think about it, and it's only $3 per additional post per month if you exceed that amount.
However, you can purchase the GRB Elite package, which includes 45 posts per month AND a singing telegram delivered to your door by JL21 at a time of our choosing. He really likes drinking at night though, so helpful hint - keep your front door unlocked between midnight and 4am.
So if that sounds good, we'll get you set up. Please submit your credit card information (No Discover, the crap card), expiration date, billing address, and security code to me by ultrasecure PM, and I'll have everything completed by our billing department in Shenzhen, Guangdong Provice, China. They're the best at this stuff.
Welcome aboard!

Re: The Pruitt-Igoe Municipal Forest
I actually went to 7th grade on that site at Pruitt Military Academy. Best decision of my life. My dream growing up was to be an Air Force pilot and fly the F-16 so I convinced my parents to enter me into the Magnet School program.
Over the summer after my 7th grade year (where I earned the Soaring Eagle award as the top 7th grader!!!) my parents got a letter basically saying that I didn't belong at Pruitt and wanting me to take a test and go to CJA so my parents made me and I started going there which meant I ended up at Metro where I never would have ended up or even known about had it not been for my ill advised year at Pruitt.
And the AF pilot thing... needing glasses suddenly my sophomore year kind of killed that dream because then my eye sight ruled me out. Stupid eyes.

Go with the Elite package - the overage charges I had on the basic package cost my 3rd and 4th daughters their college fund. But, they are both about as smart as I am, so college really wasn't in their future anyway.heyzeus wrote:Hi Terrific Turkey! Welcome to GRB! Cant remember the name, but there was a pretty good documebtary on Pruitt Igoe.
/because that is what good conscientious white dudes do-they watch documentaries about [expletive]
Also-atop of the City Museum you get pretty good view of it.

The Elite package is where it's at, especially if you get the additional warranty.
