This is a city of hope that may soon be a nation of hope,
The Bears are everything to Chicago. If they could be relevant this town would forget the Cubs in a heartbeat.
The Bulls are probably second in the pecking order. I've lived here for a few Bulls titles and the city goes nuts.
The Cubs are probably third. This is mostly a novelty thing, the team having been bad for so long and them looking at so much hope right now. A lot of people will have a lot of emotion if they win, but this isn't Cubs Town.
The Cubs are giving hope to the entire nation. Crime is going to go down. Inner city neighborhoods will be gentrified. Church attendance will go up. People will take their inheritance and "pay it forward". Disabled kids will get out of their wheelchairs and walk for the first time. Corruption will be driven out of Illinois politics. Hahahaha, ok well let's not get too carried away.
