The article is puke.
I would call it a Bears town first just because the Cubs have the White Sox picking off some fans however most people would be shocked how many Packer fans there are in the chi area, I think mostly because they are bandwagon and that band has been playing going back to Favre.
The Bulls are 5th banana now, at chi area bars I get groans when I ask for just 1 tv be turned to them if any other Chicago pro team is playing.

As an IL resident, that last sentence made me LOL.pioneer98 wrote:The Cubs are giving hope to the entire nation. Crime is going to go down. Inner city neighborhoods will be gentrified. Church attendance will go up. People will take their inheritance and "pay it forward". Disabled kids will get out of their wheelchairs and walk for the first time. Corruption will be driven out of Illinois politics. Hahahaha, ok well let's not get too carried away.

There has been a lot of vomit-inducing Cardinal praise in the media over the last half decade, but this single story tops all of them put together. But hey, Joe Buck's dream is coming true. So good for him!
And hey, baseball NEEDS this. The sport has really been struggling with the Cubs in the dumpster. Attendance, ratings, revenue, etc. I think their success is just what the sport needs to turn things around. Thank you Joe Maddon for saving baseball in Chicago and beyond!

if they do win it all, their whole gimmick of being lovable losers is gone. they will lose millions in licensing of crappy shirts. the fans will lose interest. the will collapse like the XFL and be contracted and moved to montana.

Passan is a clickbaiter. I find the general idea that people are excited the Cardinals lost so they can root for the ragtag underdogs from Chicago, New York and LA pretty amusing.
