It's not satellites like we have on earth, correct? They're orbiting a star, not a planet. The notion that it is a massive solar panel, or something like that, is interesting. If that's the case, I wonder how they transport electrons, or if they have a completely different way of harnessing and reusing energy.

If it is aliens, and they have already built giant structures orbiting stars... built them many years ago, because it has taken that long for the light to reach us and for us to notice... I hope they don't identify us, because they probably do have the capacity to come by and just take our natural resources, or, if they need a planet like ours to survive... well, Happy Columbus Day everyone! We're the natives!

If it is a supercivilization there aren't going to come for us. They already have all the resources they need. They probably just lay around and smoke weed all day.
