would y'all take rollins?

Post by Jocephus »

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that Jimmy Rollins is drawing interest as a shortstop and in a "hybrid utility role."
Rollins lost his starting shortstop job to rookie Corey Seager down the stretch with the Dodgers this past season and it could be difficult for him to find a regular job on the open market. The 37-year-old posted a career-low .643 OPS in 2015.

No, would prefer a better back up. If we can't find one, save the money and give the utility job to Garcia or Diaz.

Diaz is going to get a utility job with the big league club this year. I'd rather try him out before Rollins.

I don't want Rollins, but it's not super easy to find a good backup SS. Out of shortstops that had 150 PAs, the 30th highest OPS was .660. That's the type of hitters we are dealing with here.

Rollins is basically just a bench player at this point but he's only ever played SS, it would be better to have a bench infielder who can also play 2B and 3B.
