Been There wrote:I get a "kick"..."where have I heard that word before? reading about Johnny Cueto wanting 6 yrs. $120 MM contract to play ball. I don't see any team paying "Kicker" Cueto that sum. This reminds me of the Kyle Lohse deal, where wanting such a large contract, only ending up for less way late signing with Brewers. I don't see Cueto robbing Fort Knox.
Did you see this? This was from a week or two ago:
Free-agent pitcher Johnny Cueto has rejected a six-year, $120 million contract offer from the Arizona Diamondbacks, reports Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports confirmed the offer and reported that Cueto wants to explore his options in free agency.

At this point, (in the most incredible FA period ever) if we could get him for 5/110 or 6/130, why the heck not? Just run it by Yadi first.

Though I now expect him to get 7/180.

Cueto is probably going to get $25M per. He's not far behind Grienke in talent & there is no draft pick attached to him. He'll get paid.

Yup, I assume the Dodgers will go hard for him now.

For the record, the cards have not checked in on Cueto. No surprise there.
