So our oven died. Yeah, sucks. So we look around, and order an oven from Lowe's. We have a tiny house, so we have to buy an apartment sized one, and they are on back order with every company. We are expecting a call to schedule delivery after Christmas.
The day after we order, which is like Dec 12th, I get a call about scheduling a delivery that day. I call back surprised. Turns out they saw the order, misread it, and called too early. They said they would call when it arrived at the store to schedule delivery.
So today, the wife and I are out, and I get a voicemail from an hour before, of a driver saying he is on his way, and will be there in 15 minutes. Leaves a number which is disconnected. So I call the store, connect with a manager who seems suspicious that I didn't specify for an evening delivery today. (I wouldn't, because tonight was literally the only actually scheduled thing I had between this past Sunday and this coming Sunday.) I wasn't even mad, just concerned that there wasn't a large appliance on our front porch.
So we're rushing home because we don't know if the drivers left the oven on our porch or what, cancelling already made plans. The manager calls the drivers, says I'll be home in 20 min. (which I did tell him) I missed the call because I'm driving in rush hour in a construction zone. (This apparently makes me a terrible person) When I call the number he gave me it doesn't go through, and I have to call the store 4 times before someone finally answers after about 37 rings, reconnecting me to him. When I say, "Hi, I'm JCShutout, we talked earlier..." he cuts me off defensively saying, "you didn't answer your phone! I left a message! I left a message!" I said, "I know, but I really just wanted delivery on another day. Today isn't good." (I didn't mention spending 10 minutes calling where his people didn't answer the phone, but okay) He swears that they are probably about to knock on my door and they can't deliver at another time since they are so close... that was just over an hour ago.
So, lets recap. You treated me like a dick. YOU didn't call to schedule a delivery time. YOU made me break my plans for a delivery because you said your drivers were already close to my house... and I'm still waiting for them, and YOU had the gall to be annoyed with me by the whole situation.
Here's to you Lowe's manager guy and delivery services. You kinda suck at life.

Final delivery made... 85 minutes after I was told it would be 20 minutes. That's only like 325% late. No biggie.

Re: Lowe's delivery
For a hot second, I thought you were upset about my delivery of some unspecified item. Then I realized that in my intoxicated state, that home products company that screwed you over is missing the key R and Y letters from my surname. I am sorry for your terrible experience, but I am also a bit happy it ended up unrelated to one of my extended family's business owners.
