Re: McDonald's
We are blurring the lines but I agree Culver's is really good. My wife won't go there because she says a butter burger sounds like too many calories.
I used to really like Hardees for breakfast. I worked 3rd shift for 15 months and we had a Hardees not far away, I used to make an occasional 5am run for the troops - B & G's were as good as anywhere. They still do that?
If you ever are in Springfield, IL and want to try the most authentic, truly Springfield food there is, pass on the horseshoe and go get yourself a Sancho from Taco Gringo. It is a burrito like thing, but it's definitely different meat, sauce and seasonings. Completely different than anything you have had. BTW - the name is great, a "Sancho" is the guy that your wife is having an affair with. I grew up on them, even worked there 2 weeks until I got fired because I was too slow, and they are still there.

Re: McDonald's
Is the chicken actually different? A coworker told me he ordered the chicken tenders and it was just the regular tenders with hot sauce squirted on top.MrCrowesGarden wrote: The Nashville Hot Chicken from KFC is surprisingly good. Definitely very good for a fast food place.

The two cooks walked out and the lone server was nowhere to be found after that. We left as a couple of other customers started cooking their own food.
Anyway, that sounds like a disaster.
I think you mean awesome.

I am not eating out in January and this thread is the first time I've been tempted to break my no-spend pledge and get SnS.

Re: McDonald's
McDonald's is amazing. If I had to power rank fast food it would go
1. McDs
...
...
...
...
2. KFC
3. Wendys
The McChicken sandwich is a thing of beauty. So is the Sausage McMuffin with egg. Breakfast all day is the most important restaurant trend of 2015.
Sometimes I crave the fries from there, dipped in that crappy chemically BBQ sauce so hard I'll bundle up and hit the drive-thru in 5 degree weather.

I always tried to time my drives home to grab an Egg McMuffin in Goodland, KS. With all day breakfast I can now leave whenever I want.

That you have a superhuman constitution. I can't eat the stuff because I'm out of commission for 2 days. BK is the same.wart57 wrote:What does it say about me that I have never had any stomach issues after eating Taco Bell?

Culvers is good, but not necessarily fast or cheAp. One on Big Bend near 44 always parks you when you go thru DT. Then one dAy, their runner who finally brought the food car were a kids softball team or something like that, angling for a tip. Didnt sit well.
Anyway, it used to be for convenience for me with the kid after a practice or activity. And since she's gone healthy eating and I am supposed to as well, none of these places work.
