Ha... I haven't gone full Donner yet. Definitely loaded up on beer, and currently have gotten about 14 inches of snow already. And it's supposed to keep going until sometime tonight.

Any delivery restaurants making a go of this? -i'll try not stereotype-but the kind the whole clan works and lives in the back-get some snowshoes-can you even cc ski in that load?

The place Would need a good social networking presence to say open for biz.
Anyway-i imagine somebody is making $ off this -other than snowplows

I know there were a few bars that were open in my area last night. There's also probably a decent chance that there are some delivery places going right now. But I'm not sure.

One of my favorite bars is even going to be open tonight, but the only real way to get there is by the metro. And it's shutdown until Monday.

My main work is closed. I had planned to work a shift tonight at my last joint I quit months ago that's much more tourist-y. Was a great plan for easy money when I didn't know about a big storm.

NYC has issued a travel ban, and though some trains are still running, there's no damn way I'm going into Manhattan to work some bull [expletive] shift through a blizzard, serving only grouchy European tossers who can't see Times Square through the storm winds. They're pissed off that I'm ditching, but [expletive] that. I am not even an employee there any more.

Then again, I somewhat want to now brave the possible subway stranding to venture into the city not for work, but to meet my buddies who are all getting hammered all weekend at our dive bar of choice.

The last big storm we had here-a fraction compared to DCs, our [expletive] AT&T was doing its typical crap-out during NFC playoff Packers Bears. i skidded past the bars down MapleWood and saw nothing open. I took a look in OB Clarks and it was packed and drunk as hell. Went back home, ATT came back.
