rant: fine dining

Yesterday I brought in a little left over chili and wrapped it up in tortillas. My chili farts smell EXACTLY like my chili, so I don't know that you can really tell the difference when you come into my office. I don't take the trash out very often in my office so there is that garbage smell that kind of hides or blends in with the other smells too.



There is something dripping down the side of the desk there, isn't there? I'm kind of hoping that's coffee, but I can't really say for sure.

I get these tortillas 8 for a $1. I get two days out of a can of refried beans. Very economical.

That is all kinds of awesome.

Here is my "stash" at work. I can whip up anything to my hearts content with these simple items:

5 bagels: $3
Bag of cheese: $2

For $7, you can make egg and cheese sandwiches on a bagel for a week, and they're pretty awesome.

My problem is twofold. One, I am cheap and two, lazy. Your recipe fulfills the first part, but not the second. It sounds like you have to do something with those eggs, right? I'll go as far as microwaving something, but that's it. So unless you are suggesting raw eggs which I'm not necessarily opposed to, then it's too much work and planning for me.

I do bagels alot for breakfast. THere is a stick of butter laying around my office somewhere, and a toasted bagel with some butter is a good way to start the day.

luckily for you, all that is required for an egg sandwich is to microwave it. Well, you have to break the eggs and put them in a bowl, then break the yolk with a fork or something (and add salt and pepper if you're really highfalutin), then microwave for a minute, add cheese and microwave for like 30 seconds. straight from the bowl to the bagel. Throw the bowl away.

Besides, I have lost about 10 lbs and dropped my cholesterol by about 20 points since I don't go out to lunch as much.
