Is there alcohol at these caucuses. Let me rephrase that - of course I know there is alcohol - is it technically permitted? Or do you have to sneak it in?

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will sniff out the kind of b.s. that's unique to the campaign trail in Triumph's Election Special 2016, set to air on Hulu in February.

re: girls in the Obama group. Never thought of that, probably because I didn't understand how this all works. I can't imagine there are going to be many cute girls in Hillary's camp. Lots of lesbians I'm guessing - and not the good ones, I'm talking brick laying lesbians.

Bernie has a shot.

“I never said that,” Palin said, briefly dropping her folksy shtick. “You guys brought me here to talk about Iowa politics and the caucus tonight, not to talk about my kids. And that was a promise. But as things go in the world of media, you guys don’t always keep your promises, evidently. I never blamed President Obama.”

An article about the Iowa caucuses with some funny stuff mixed in:
https://www.yahoo.com/politics/iowa-on- ... 13666.html
A banner for sale at Raygun, a small Iowa chain of novelty stores specializing in politically themed T-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia, captures the prevailing attitude of locals toward the would-be leaders of the free world: “Iowa! For some reason you have to come here to be president.” A T-shirt expresses the same sentiment toward the correspondents and bloggers who follow in the candidates’ wake: “Sorry to interrupt your meal, but are you alive and have an opinion on the election?”

It was at a Raygun store that Adam Peters of Iowa City bought the Berniehead shirt that has made him a sensation on Reddit: a black tee covered with pictures of the Vermont senator wearing variations on his characteristic expression, the one that seems to be saying: I ordered my tea 10 minutes ago, young lady! Peters got himself photographed wearing the shirt to Sanders rallies all over the state and soon became a minor political celebrity on social media in his own right, notwithstanding that, as Peters learned from a campaign staffer, Sanders actually thinks the shirt is creepy.
They go to great lengths to know the size of all the tiny towns the candidates stopped in, but fail to mention that about 500,000 people live within commuting distance of Des Moines, another 500,000 live within commuting distance of Davenport, and about the same within commuting distance of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City. And then another few hundred thousand live within the 900K population of the Omaha metro area. These are not "major" cities but seriously we have blight and crime and all the same problems as what people deem to be actual "real" cities, and the populations I just mentioned probably easily account for over half the state's population.

Can we just fast forward to November. I'm anxious to see how screwed the country will be.

Pre-caucus prediction:

Hillary and Cruz eek out wins in Iowa.

Bernie has a strong showing through the primaries, but Hillary wins most states. She is the Dem nominee, but is weakened in the process.

GOP establishment coalesces behind Rubio. Trump and Cruz win more support in the primaries, but Rubio is in position to get the nomination because superdelegates put him over the top. There is much gnashing of teeth and the threat of a brokered convention remains. Lots of talk about recruiting Paul Ryan to enter, but he doesn't. Rubio ends up with the nomination. Trump throws a fit and runs as an independent.

Knowing that no one actually likes Hillary and seeing that the GOP is a mess, Bloomberg enters the race as an independent but talks issues like a democrat.

Hillary wins the general election with maybe 40% of the popular vote.
