Re: Plantar fasciitis
I have dealt with this in both feet at different times. The first foot I thought I stepped on something and let it go for about 6 months, figuring it was a bruise that would heal. I ended up getting custom inserts and two cortisone injections which finally took care of it.
A year later, I lost the inserts. Months later, I started feeling it in the other foot and tried taking care of it myself. It got away from me, and I ended up getting a cortisone shot in that foot and new inserts. Since then, all is well.
I won't go without my inserts in my shoes, they are critical. I have found that Birkenstock sandals have enough support, those are the only sandals I dare wear.
Ask about cortisone - I actually tried the inserts first before cortisone and I needed those shots to kind of calm things down enough. I will warn you I've had cortisone in my feet, thumb, and shoulder and by FAR the most painful is the foot. It really hurts like a son of a [expletive], not going to lie.

Re: Plantar fasciitis
I healed mine by running on a treadmill at a 5.5 incline. Honestly.

Calf stretching helps alot getting out of bed. Spend a good minute or two stretching and that will help.

Re: Plantar fasciitis
The doc suggested stretching while brushing your teeth.
