The fact that I had to stop and ask myself, "Wait, was there a twist in that movie?" should tell you just how much of a twist it was (and I have seen that movie countless times). I mean, I guess there is in the VERY mildest sense.

great, now the [expletive] flyin' hawaiian will be on their team

Cubs signed OF Shane Victorino to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
One day after the surprise re-signing of Dexter Fowler, the Cubs have added another outfielder. Victorino is on a minor league deal (which is worth $1 million with $1 million more available in incentives, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick) but should virtually be assured of making the Opening Day roster, likely booting Matt Szczur back to Triple-A. The oft-injured 35-year-old has batted only .246/.306/.329 over the last two seasons while being limited to 101 games due to a variety of ailment. He'll back up at all three outfield spots.

Wow, we are at the point that we are complaining about not signing Shane Victorino?

Season can't start fast enough.

And of course, had we signed Victorino to even a minor league contract, there would be low hanging fruit comments up the wazoo.

I, for one, am glad that we did not sign Victorino.

I, for two, am a little bummed that a guy like Dexter Fowler fell right back into the Cubs' laps. Or lap. Not sure if it's a singular lap for an entire franchise.

im not upset the cards didn't sign him. i just think at some point in the season, during a series against the cards, i'll see him jawing from the dugout when all he does is get a few innings a week. and then i'll know, that i was right.
