Our 400k+ mile Silvarado rusted in half today. Literally in half. The frame just rusted in two. Damn that was a good truck and I hate to see it go.

Finally got our notice about the Takata airbag recall. Called Ackermann Toyota; they only get 2-3 replacement parts per week (same amount as all Toyota dealers according to them) and there are 150 people ahead of us. Took our number and said they would call us in 3-4 months to schedule an appointment

Yikes, talk about handling a recall poorly. Is that even legal? I would think w/ an issue like yours, they would be required to provide you w/ a vehicle that did not have the airbag issue.Molly wrote:Finally got our notice about the Takata airbag recall. I got the notice, and they didn't even promise availability. Just said they'd tell me later.

transmission went out again not sure what I want to do but damn sure not going back to the same place.Diddy wrote:I had to replace the transmission in my truck this month. $2500 I did not have. 13 months ago (12 month warranty) they replaced the synchronizers in fifth gear. I think that cost me $750. Should have just rebuilt the entire thing then but they were sure it would fix it.
