Re: The Video Game Thread
I keep upgrading my settlements in FO4 for no good reason. What's wrong with me?

if you put points into those settlement skills and intelligence/conversation, it could be helpful (that is if a strong settlement is something you are wanting).

I don't know what I want. It's busy work, but I can't help myself.
Settlements are easy exp.

I liked FO4 quite a bit but
I enjoyed settlement building quite a bit and probably added a lot of completely useless things. I also spent a pretty huge amount of time going around scrapping parts of the settlement I didn't need or want to clean it up. I'm a little disappointed you could never make a nice shiny settlement. I mean why did every structure look rag tag and half assed? Even post nuclear war I would not have holes in my room.

Any MLB the Show 16 players out there doing Diamond Dynasty? Particularly the Conquest mode.

Re: The Video Game Thread
It looks like we are getting console upgrades from Sony this year and MS next year. Apparently they are going with an incremental upgrade approach like smart phones that will support backwards compatibility.
2x and 4x more power sounds like a lot, but is actually much smaller than normal console generation upgrades. Games will most likely support better frame rates and more graphical bells and whistles on the new consoles.
The other console, codenamed Scorpio, is unlikely to be released until late 2017, according to Polygon's sources. It will likely be announced in the next month, though plans are somewhat in flux. Like the all-but-confirmed PS4 "Neo," Scorpio represents an evolution of console generations, one that straddles the line somewhat between an entirely new installment of the Xbox platform and a continuation of the existing Xbox One.
LinkThe Xbox One is believed to operate a peak target of 1.32 teraflops, compared to the 1.84 teraflop performance numbers attributed to the PS4. Meanwhile, per documents secured by Giant Bomb's Austin Walker — and corroborated by our sources — the PlayStation 4 "Neo," at approximately 2.25 times more powerful than the PS4, is likely to have a peak performance number of 4.14 teraflops.

Maybe xOne will drop in price again. Although I'm still hung up on baseball games being a necessity for any cosole I go ga-ga over.

I'm not sure how I feel about modular upgrades or any of that. I guess its designed not to break up the community but I can't help but think that it will. For example frame rate is pretty important in shooters and even some sports games. It seem like if you had the faster system you'd be at an advantage.
