I saw Clinton and that other guy on 60 minutes and apparently both of them are for jobs and eliminating terrorism which I think is just a HUGE game changer. HUGE.

What's really [expletive] up is this same mentality trickles down to the state level. Chuck Grassley's opponent is Patty Judge. She was basically handpicked by the DNC, even though there is a more progressive, younger, and more exciting challenger in Robb Hogg. Sound familar? Hogg came in second in the primaries and got no support from the DNC. Patty was better connected. It sucks. I voted for Hogg and even donated to his campaign.Freed Roger wrote:This isn't a surprise with the DNC. Hilary as their chosen candidate has been obvious for years. Bernie Sander as a viable candidate was the surprise.

Yes, it is hilarious that a guy is named Hogg being from Iowa, but it's pronounced "hoag" which makes it almost funnier. Anyway, I'm really hoping Hogg runs for governor against Branstad in 2018.

Well, we know who Putin DOESNT want to be President. Who wants to vote for the candidate Vladimir Putin endorses? Not me.Radbird wrote:What does Trump owe Putin for the DNC email hack? Estonia?

The "education divide" is nuts
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/25/politics/ ... index.html
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/25/politics/ ... index.html
Donald Trump comes out of his convention ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, topping her 44% to 39% in a four-way matchup including Gary Johnson (9%) and Jill Stein (3%) and by three points in a two-way head-to-head, 48% to 45%. That latter finding represents a 6-point convention bounce for Trump, which are traditionally measured in two-way matchups.
The poll also reflects a sharpening of the education divide among whites that has been prevalent throughout the campaign. Among white voters with college degrees, Clinton actually gained ground compared with pre-convention results, going from an even 40% to 40% split to a 44% to 39% edge over Trump. That while Trump expanded his lead with white voters who do not hold a college degree from a 51% to 31% lead before the convention to a 62% to 23% lead now.

It's not just Manafort, it's Trump himself with the frightening ties to the Putin and his Russian underworld supporters. As banks have gradually refused to lend to Trump (probably due to the bankruptcies), he has turned to shadowy pro-Putin Russian sources for his financing. It's unsurprising that Trump is now praising Putin as a great leader, talking about not defending NATO allies that Russia has its eyes on, and benefiting from a Russian hack of the DNC servers. That's just how demagogue dictators do favors for eachother.Radbird wrote:Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s top adviser, and his ties to pro-Russian politicians in UkraineFreed Roger wrote:IIRC, Berlusconi and Putin were pals too.Joe Shlabotnik wrote:Well, we know who Putin DOESNT want to be President. No big deal though, this is just our democratic republic going down the tubes here.

But he's in favor of changing Washington. Plus, Crooked Hillary.
