Totally untrue. I feel sorry for him. It's not his fault that he can't perform commensurate with his contract.

Holliday might be the best free agent signing of the decade. It's a given that he would be worth more at the beginning than the end. The contract as a whole has been an unqualified success.

What about the middle? He was great in his 1st half season. He was good in the 1st full season, but for the highest paid player one would think the guy would lead the team in something after 7 years. You should know his slash line. It's totally pedestrian.

He finally DID lead the team in RBI last year, but it took him a month to catch Adams' total after he went on the DL. Furthermore, Holliday has not finished in the top 10 in any offensive category since '09. That's a far cry from Albert, Rolen, Beltran, Berkman and Edmonds, all of which were perennial top 10 finishers.

The top hitters on the team right now are: Diaz, Carp and Pisco. That's just a fact. After that MH is in the mix with JP, Moss, Yadi and Gyroko. He and Moss are almost interchangeable, except in salary. You say that he might be the best FA signing of the decade. What on earth is your criteria?

How on Earth can you consider that anything but an absolutely huge success? Sure, if you had that production making the league minimum like Albert did for several years then I suppose that would be better. But other than that, so far, Holliday has been the best long-term deal Mo has ever made.

The only reason last year there was no surplus value was becuase he was hurt for so much of the season. In the games he did play, Holliday still had a .394 OBP last year!

So this year it is understandable that they still gave him his #3 spot in the batting order, for a while. His OBP is way down for the first time in his career and so is his batting average. So he should probably have been moved down in the order at some point.

I don't see how batting Holliday #3 for a month too long is on the same level as the Rams relocating (which I don't blame StL for anyway - the NFL screwed them).

I'm sure the Rams winning 3 games a year for a solid decade, and Kroenke being a self serving fuk stick, have nothing to do with the loss of the Rams.
