There are still some good ones mixed in. I figured they would have an angle on the whole "safe spaces" thing going on at colleges with their phony Walden University, and found the one below. Their best ones IMO are the ones where their fictional characters are doing a more extreme version of what the real-life person they are parodying is doing. Or when they take the behavior of some real-life person and have one of their characters take it to an extreme. This one kind of fits that mold, too.
Doonesbury has always kind of been hit or miss. There are certain ones from certain issues that really stand the test of time, if you lived through those eras. A lot of their Iraq War stuff was pretty genius. When Iraq was in chaos they had a series where Duke saw an opportunity and flew to Iraq and became a warlord. It was smart and hilarious. Maybe their "peak" stuff was so good that it raised my expectations to an unrealistic level.
