A couple months ago I was driving and the car a quarter mile ahead of me hit the brakes then slowly proceeded to move along. I slow down and see a squirrel trying to claw its way off the road using its front two legs because the back legs had been shattered. I thought I should back up and just run over it to put it out of its misery but I don't have that in me. It's just not something I would be able to do even though I know it would be best for the damn squirrel.Arthur Dent wrote:I'm visiting my folks this week in Oregon and was driving back from the coast yesterday late afternoon. Three cars in front of me I saw a small animal bounding out into the highway. First car slams right into it going under the wheel. Next two cars brake, and I think managed to avoid further mangling. When we drove by, we realized it was a daschund still wearing his little harness just completed eviserated.
This small creature joyfully bounding forward and then, Bam, horribly slaughtered. Just really upsetting.

Re: The Circle of Life
Definitely should have hit the squirrel. Terrible feeling but the onus is yours in those situations.
