Re: Dexter Fowler
As long as Fowler stays healthy, he seems like a player that's going to carry a lot of value into his mid-30s.

Re: Dexter Fowler
Jim Edmonds did alright, putting up the best 4-yr run of his career from 32 to 35.Fat Strat wrote:I think I would rather take my chances with Adam Eaton than Fowler. Let Toronto have him. I'm talking myself out of him as we get closer to decision time.
I mean, do we really want a 32 year old CF'er? Not really.
And we could move Fowler to LF and leave Grichuk in CF.

Re: Dexter Fowler
Health, though, is always the question with guys in their mid 30's.
Again, I'm not saying that he would be bad. I just can't get worked up about missing out on him or the need to sign him. Eaton interests me a little more. If we have to make a decision on Fowler tonight and the White Sox aren't ready to make a decision on Eaton right this second, I would probably wait on Eaton, at least for a few days. That's really what I'm saying.
The Sox might not move Eaton until after they've moved Frazier.

I said at the beginning of the offseason I wanted them to sign Fowler and trade for Eaton. They can and should do both, assuming the package for Eaton is reasonable.

Re: Dexter Fowler
And with Frazier being marketed to the Dodgers, that puts Turner back in play.
Eaton isn't at the top of my list, but my top pick isn't likely to get dealt. How do you position the OF defense with Eaton? Grichuk in CF, Eaton in LF?

He's been in RF. I honestly haven't look at anything to know if he's good to go back to CF.

Re: Dexter Fowler
Matheny gushed about Dexter Fowler. He says he is willing to help recruit Fowler if asked. Sounds like he'd love to have him. @KSDKSports

Keep in mind that Fowler is very religious and part of the FCA. This might be up Matheny's alley.
