Cinco de Mayo is a great birthday to have but I have to be careful with who I hang out with. Some friends are not good influences and will just keep buying me shot after shot until I have no clue what is going on.
Clinching on Friday would be great, because then I could get celebratory drinking out of the way in preparation for drinking during the Kentucky Derby.

Let's not count our chickens before they're hatched. Nashville just dispensed of the blacksquaks in 4 straight. They could be quite formidable.

Which brings me to a question. How much of that series was Nashville being that good versus Chicago sucking?? I didn't get to see any of the series.

I think it will be a tight series, myself. But then, I hope to be tight at the end of next week, regardless.

Both teams are going to be battered and bruised after this series. It is not going to be easy no matter who wins.

As to the mention of the Kentucky Derby, I'm really looking forward to the 2018 derby. Cinco de Mayo, Kentucky Derby and my 40th birthday all on the same day... yes please. If I have to turn 40, that sounds like the day to do it.

For the second year, I am unable to find this Blues cap in my size. Damn big head...

Blues definitely have a size advantage this series. I saw that Nashville's tallest defenseman would be the 5th tallest on the Blues. Hopefully this can be used to our advantage.

Ortiz is covering this round for the PD so that will be brutal. Though Hochman's first round analysis wasn't quite riveting. After the Blues got shut out one game we had a great article letting us know the Blues need to score more.

I just found out that assuming the series isn't a sweep, I have a decent chance of getting great seats to Game 5. A friend just told me that one of her vendors is getting her tickets to game 5 and if she can bring somebody then Happy Birthday to me! She just isn't sure yet if they are only taking her or if she can bring anybody yet. She's waiting to hear back.

It will be a tough series. Blues will have to play better than they generally did against the Wild to advance. Each of the remaining teams are of course formidable, but I do feel much better not having to face the Blackhawks this round.

I feel mostly relieved not having to face them too, but that little voice in the back of my head is saying be careful what you wish for. This blues fan's heart has just been crushed too many times.
