It isn't like they were selling the crappy old public toilets.
As for the ivy, won't it just wither and die?

Re: The Cubs Way/The Plan
I don't blame any one or organization for selling something that someone is willing to pay for...whether that is ivy or urinals or William Shatner's kidney stone. Now would I want to pay for it...that's a different question.
If you are a fan of the team having the ivy would probably be nice...just like a lot of fans wanted a piece of Busch Stadium 2 when it went on to the afterlife. I personally didn't care to have anything from the old stadium except the memories from growing up watching games there.

Not sure if this was discussed elsewhere. Apparently the Cubs' Way is throwing your teammates under the bus when you are the one who sucks.

From everything I saw last night he can't even claim being 1 for 32....they showed him w/ a big fat goose egg when it comes to throwing runners out.Popeye_Card wrote:Not sure if this was discussed elsewhere. I never heard around this, but apparently he [expletive] and moaned about his "role on the team" after they won the WS last year.

Sounds like some clubhouse animosity on the north side...better start the fire sale.

joe maddon is not only a an excellent tactician and analytical mind, but he is also a great clubhouse leader.

Let's get a photo of Maddon and Trump being all buddies and see how quickly that "hipster dad" tag stays attached to him.go birds wrote:joe maddon is not only a an excellent tactician and analytical mind, but he is also a great clubhouse leader.

“Baseball is a game with a ton of adversity,” Epstein said. “Players attempt to respond to adversity in the right way and trying from the end are players with strong character. If you have enough guys like that in the clubhouse, you have an edge on the other team.”
Guys throwing teammates under the bus and abusing girlfriends? Maybe the Cubs are only one game over .500 through late June because they lost their character edge this year.
