Their depth will be tested right out of the gate.
As for the question on Bouwmeester, I'm not a big fan, and it's for the reason cardinalkarp cited (ROI). If you're getting paid like he is and contributing next to nothing on offense, you better be a lockdown, 1st line, heavy minutes defenseman, and I just don't believe that he is. I guess I'd just rather see Shattenkirk getting that money (and obviously, a little more) than Bouwmeester.

I liked Shatty as a person, and I liked his offense. He was crummy on D, and perpetually exposed as such in the playoffs. I'm not too sad that we didn't lock him up.mikechamp wrote:Their depth will be tested right out of the gate.

Bouwmeester is paid too much, but he's a good compliment to Petro. Kinda like Seabrook with Keith. You split them up, they're both not as good.

I think Bouwmeester's PK abilities will be missed if it's an extended period he misses (a month or more of regular season time.) I wonder if Edmundson will get bumped to the 1st line or if they'll go to Gunnar/someone else. I really doubt it's Parayko.
