ESPN FC talking heads were arguing about whether CONCAACAF needed to do something about protecting Pulisic from the punches and kicks or if the Golden Boy needed to basically toughen up.

They do need to do something in that refereeing soccer is the most physically demanding and difficult sport to officiate so they inevitably miss a ton of stuff so they need to find ways to keep improving in general.

The other thing that needs to happen however, is that the US needs to have more than one game breaker on the field so teams can't just focus on Pulisic. That's probably coming in the next world cup cycle, so he'll have to just get tougher and smarter and the US will have to find a way to enforce for him a little bit for now.

What a letdown. I still think, from a talent perspective, this is one of the more talented USMNT's that we have fielded. Pulisic, Wood, Altidor, Bradley, Dempsey still hanging around. Nagbe. A few pretty good backs. We should have challenged for the top spot in CONCACAF with the talent we have. We were either incredible or terrible... not much inbetween.
