I seem to recall Kapler being a hot managerial candidate at some point.

It wasn't too long ago that Moore was generally regarded as one of the, if not the, worst GM in the league. On par with Brian Sabean of the Giants.MrCrowesGarden wrote:The Braves asked the Royals for permission to interview Dayton Moore for their general manager job, and the Royals owner denied.
Amazing what a couple decent playoff runs will do for your credibility.

The Reds announced on Monday that Buddy Bell, 66, is joining the organization's front office to become a vice president and senior advisor to general manager and president of baseball operations Dick Williams
All the Bells are switching teams this offseason.

Walt is still with the Reds but he got promoted, much like the Cards did with Mo.Swirls wrote:When did Walt get replaced? I thought he was still GM.Joe Shlabotnik wrote:Dick Williams isn't dead yet? He made some questionable moves at the MLB level but they drafted and developed pretty darn good under him

Neither of these two deals are going to happen. It’s expected the Cubs will try to make another similar move, perhaps chasing Giants right-hander Jeff Samardzija (three years, $59 million left on his deal) or Rays right-hander Chris Archer (four years and $34 million left if two team options are exercised).
Please no on both Davis and Holland.Goold notes that the Cardinals have had interest in Brandon Morrow on multiple occasions in the past and notes that he could well be a target if the Cardinals ultimately decide to pursue multiple arms and have a competition for the ninth inning next spring. He also adds that St. Louis will likely pursue top-end closers (e.g. Wade Davis, Greg Holland), though the Cards will have obvious competition on that front. Any who track the offseason closely, especially fans of the Cardinals or other clubs in the NL Central, will want to take a full look for some insight into the Redbirds’ upcoming plans.
