Schenn's been everything I could've hoped for and more.

I've not been in a few years either, but I'm not sure there is that huge of difference for family friendliness. I think the lower bowl is much louder, if that's a concern. There's a chance that you get seated next to jerks anywhere.JCShutout wrote:A buddy of mine is coming in town next week, and wants to take the fam to a Blues game. He was asking me if it was better, generally (if that can even be answered) to sit in the upper or lower bowl for a family with a 3 year old. I don't have a kid and haven't been to a game in a few years, so I lack the perspective. Any thoughts?

Re: 2017-2018 Blues (Hockey) Season
The lower bowl is probably a bit louder but if the kid can handle it, it sure is a lot easier to get to and from the seats not only once you get in the arena but if you are on at the very top, all of those steps can be a chore to herd a kid up and down if they have to go to the bathroom or whatever. Otherwise I don't think it really matters from a crowd perspective.
I also just realized that I haven't sat in the upper portion of the lower bowl for awhile so I guess there could be more of a hike up to those seats from the tunnel than I remember. The past few years I've either been within 15 rows of the ice or in the last 3 rows of the arena. Nothing in between. There isn't a bad seat in the house really. The corner sections can be annoying if you're too close though. With the curve of the glass you pretty much have to watch part of the game on the screen because it's hard to see the action at the other end if you're too close in a corner.

This team is special. The way they just kept their foot on the pedal in the 3rd last night was awesome to see. Hitch just couldn't get them to play that way. Yeo is doing a great job!

Access is the main key, the upper bowl has some pretty steep seating and it's much more squeezed in.

I don't like sitting in the upper bowl too much anymore because it seems like every time I'm up there I'm surrounded by three dozen teenagers on a school trip just texting and throwing popcorn at each other all game.
I do agree that accessibility is the preference if you've got kids, especially with the way hockey works (no movement during play). Sitting on the aisle, whether upper or lower bowl, is the way to go.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.sportsne ... ov/sn-amp/Report: Blues in talks to sign banned KHL star Danis Zaripov
According to a report from Russia’s R-Sport, the Blues are in talks to sign former KHL winger Danis Zaripov.
Zaripov played the 1998-99 season with the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL but outside of that the Chelyabinsk native has spent his career exclusively playing in Russia. The 36-year-old was an alternate captain with Metallurg Magnitogorsk over the the past four seasons following a 12-year run with Ak Bars Kazan. He made headlines earlier this year after the KHL and International Ice Hockey Federation banned him until 2019 for testing positive for pseudoephedrine during the 2016-17 campaign.
Pseudoephedrine is not considered a banned substance according to the NHL/NHL Players’ Association Drug Testing Policy, so the league announced in August that Zaripov had been declared eligible to sign with any NHL team.

Thanks all. I suggested upper lower bowl because of access/steps.
Someone on LGB suggested end of a row/aisle for bathroom access, which I added. I appreciate the help. Having no kids of my own, I wouldn't have thought of all that.
EDIT: Hoot said the aisle too. Credit where credit is due.

Re: 2017-2018 Blues (Hockey) Season
I am one of the odd ones that actually prefers to be in the middle of a row because I get annoyed with having to let people in and out all game. Of course that generally means people with kids so I probably should have thrown that in too. I just make sure that I have whatever I need to get me through the period (beer... and beer) before it starts so I don't have to get up until the period is over.
By then I'm ready to shove men, women and small babies out of the way to get to the bathroom just so I can stand in line for another ten minutes and barely make it back to my seat before the next period starts. I'm special.
