Citing a source close to the pitcher, Jim Bowden of Sirius XM Radio reports six teams are legitimately "in" on Darvish and there are "another handful that are staying close."

ESPN's Keith Law lists Darvish No. 1 on his list of top 50 free agents.

Minnesota Twins general manager Thad Levine told MLB Network Radio last weekend that he has been in contact with Darvish's camp. The St. Louis Cardinals are among the other teams to be linked to the four-time All-Star.

don't believe anything jim bowden reports, but IMO, a starting pitcher ranks right up there with an "impact" hitter...

C-Mart
Weaver
Wacha
Wainwright
Flaherty

...is just looking...not good

Doing their dilligence if the bat falls through.

I would still rather trade for pitching than try to sign a starter like Darvish.

Well, at least with Darvish he won't result in us losing a draft pick like signing Arrieta would, as he was traded mid-season. And I would rather have him than Arrieta.

Diamondbacks acquired RHP Brad Boxberger from the Rays for RHP Curtis Taylor.
Boxberger is entering his second year of salary arbitration and getting a little rich for the cost-conscious Rays, so they've shipped him out for a younger talent. Boxberger, 29, posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.159 WHIP, and 40/11 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings this past year with Tampa Bay. He missed the first three months of the season due to lat and forearm issues.

That's a move I would have liked the Cardinals to make.
