Cubs know the Cardinals need a lot to go right in order to seriously challenge them even without making a big move this offseason. So they can wait to assemble Bryant/Rizzo/Harper. Meanwhile New York can put together Judge/Stanton/Machado so MLB can have a decade of its own version of the NBA's Warriors and Cavs.

Even with Darvish, I wouldn't say the Brewers are a better team than the Cardinals.

If the Brewers sign Darvish are they second best team in the NL Central. And if the Brewers trade for Yelich, are they still the second best team but the Cards are a distant third.
How much do the NL Central Power rankings change with Darvish added to Cubs/Brewers.

I'm following this chat and Ortiz seems like a simpleton.

If this is the only disappointing thing you have to deal with, you're living a charmed life.

It's still discouraging that after all of their comments about financial flexibility that their payroll will most likely be lower than last year.
I mean wtf kind of answer is this?

On what planet is Gergerson worth a two year contract and Nicassio and Reed aren't?
Is he even trying?

Yes, if you mean performing a golden shower.

The Brewers ZiPS projections are worse than the Reds. If there was a way to short public perception of the Brewers I'd take out a second mortgage to take advantage.

Cubs fan here (for the sake of full disclosure)...the Cardinals would absolutely still be better than Milwaukee even if Milwaukee somehow got Darvish.
