I haven't seen that conversation, isn't the answer 'play him'? They're running Geist and Van Leer for 50 minutes a game most nights so another ball-dominant guy would be a welcome sight, especially with MPJ's talent.
The easy answer is play him. Counzo has got them working right now, moving the ball, playing excellent defense, guarding the 3 pt line. So play him, yes, but plug him in the right place and make sure he’s buying in. Maybe start, maybe 1st off the bench.
I just don't understand how the refs can be this bad. They made 3-4 straight bad calls against Mizzou at the end of regulation and then 3-4 straight in their favor at the end of OT. No consistency or rhyme or reason, it makes the sport nearly unwatchable.
Yeah, I have no idea what the [expletive] that was. The game should have never gotten to OT and then when Mizzou looks buried Puryear pulls a triple out of his ass. CBB is about like watching wrestling at this point. I'm going to the game Tuesday. That place is gonna be lit if we hear MPJ's entrance music out of nowhere.
I don't if I mentioned this here or elsewhere, but college officials do like 3 or 4 games a week. They are completely overworked. Plus it isn't their full time job. They're bad, not consistent and like TT said it has made the game unwatchable.
But I do have an idea for improving the game.
Why is men's CBB the only basketball without quarters?!?!?!? If we went to 4 10 minute quarters teams would not be in the bonus as quick and we wouldn't have the last 8 minutes of the game be a foul shooting contest. I have no idea why this hasn't happened yet.
I know Mizzou can Mizzou at any time, but we’ve got to be getting close to the point where we don’t have to talk about where there’s any concerns they won’t make it.
Feels like beating Ole Miss, Vandy and at least one of A&M/Arkansas/LSU/Kentucky should do it. Do better and the highest they could get is... maybe a 6 seed?
Assuming they don't totally collapse, they surely can't be worse than a 10. I'm just hoping for 3-3. aTm is probably a loss, as is the game at Rupp. At LSU and vs. Suitcase Mike are probably coin flips.
